Mr. Terrance Hill

Mr. Terrance Hill will serve as principal of Powell Middle School for the 2024-2024 school year. Mr. Hill previously served as principal of Green Elementary School. During his tenure at Green, Mr. Hill strategically focused on promoting school culture and climate and implementing data to enhance teaching and learning. His commitment to student academic performance contributed to Green earning an A rating in 2023. Prior to Green, Mr. Hill served as an assistant principal at Pecan Park Elementary. During his tenure at Pecan Park, the school moved to a performance rating of B in 2018 and an A rating in 2019. Principal Hill’s educational journey began at Woodville Heights Elementary, where he taught 4th and 5th grade mathematics. 

Over the course of Hill's 12-year career, he was recognized as Teacher of the Year, Administrator of the Month, and the recipient of Superintendents Golden Apple Award. He was also recognized as Jackson State University's Top 40 Under 40 for his contribution in the educational field. 

Mr. Hill holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Education from Jackson State University. He completed a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College and a Specialist of Education in Instructional Leadership from William Carey University. He is currently in the dissertation phase of his PhD program at Jackson State University.
